The writing is perfectly serviceable, though without any distinguishing characteristics It s like those MFA bores all are. (((READ KINDLE))) ⇲ Charmed and Deadly ✙ Bronwyn is backbut so is her evil ex boyfriend From the author of Charmed Ready and Charmed Dangerous Bronwyn is used to making enemies when you dedicate your life to ridding the world of evil magic dudes and dudettes, it can happen So when she first realizes that an attempted hit on the Prime Minister was really for her, it s just same spell, different day But then something about this hex reminds Bronwyn an awful lot of an ex Jason Gladstone, who was her college sweetheart until he tied her up and tried to drain her of her powers Talk about a date from hell Another installment of the adventures of Bronwyn the witch, it is another great and fast paced book, I read it in a matter of hours, it made me smile, laugh and go aww, everything you need for a book, I read it in a matter of hours, it made me smile, laugh and go aww, everything you need for a summer read and now matter how much I enjoyed it and I did I just didn t enjoy it as much as the first two No idea why.Bronwyn is her usual feisty self and we meet all of our favourite characters, Dr Sam in particular There is a rather nice scene of them trying out the new shower some of you might like, wink but I am getting distracted Whilst saving the world Bronwyn feels he magical signature of her ex boyfriend Jason, this is something she should never have felt, after he tried to steal her powers and kill her he was locked up in magic prison by the spook squad But someone let him out and he has an axe to grind On top of that her family members and friends are disappearing and she feels drained, are they all connected Not necessarily.I did like the book, it was light and fluffy, the diary journal style allows for Bronwyn to get into mortal danger and then appear 3 days later and tell you what happened, relaxing the reader But I do feel that in a couple of places it was rushed, her confrontation with Jason is an example, as it actually belongs in a wider story arc This is a complex plot, with many characters, multiple baddies and multiple plots which weave in and out of each other All of this is handled really well and you begin to feel Bronwyn pulled in all different directions and the effect it is having on her.The end of the book suggests there could be another, setting up a new plot, and I hope there will be, although at the moment there seems to be no sign As I have said before the books are quite hard to get but you can get them second hand An engaging and magical tale of magic, family, friends and love Whatcould you want on a summers day I give Charmed and Deadly 3.5 frilly knickers out of 5 A frilly bikini read The third in the Bronwyn series by Candace Havens Bronwyn is a Texas witch whose job you ll never believe it is to protect the British review For a book that is so humorous, it definitely covers some hairy situations and serious plot points It s entertaining and satisfying at the same time My only complaint is the three or four major plot lines in this book don t intertwine as much as I might have expected, with some seeming to be wrapped up too soon and too easily, with less impact on the main plot as I would prefer Bronwyn s circle of friends is an eclectic and wonderful bunch, adding depth and variety to the story Her world travels always leave her yearning to return to Sweet, Texas, and the supernatural elements keep it lively and exciting Classic literature Maybe not But still fun to read This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here The first 2 books in this series were a good combination of fluff and fun plots characters This third book went way off the radar and the author seemed confused regarding the story arch we were in I didn t understand why Havens even mentioned that Bronwyn had a miscarriage if it didn t mean anything for the rest of the story Jason said at the end it was his doing that ended her pregnancy how Why even bring it up I thought the pregnancy new ideas and plot lines to the table all left open ended without a fourth book in sight I felt as if I had finished one book and started a new one within a few chapters Some of the new plot lines mentioned include Bronwyn is developing a new power even though we didn t get to see her take ownership of her earth shaking power from the last book Garnout the wizard tells her she will have a grave responsibility soon Calinda may return even though they banished her Jason told her the one closest to her will destroy her etc Anyway, I won t re read this at all ever, but the first two I will keep around for fun as a beach read I wanted to like this book it had all sorts of elements that could have been a great story, but the characters were so flat that there wasn t much to hold on to Starting really enjoyed all of the Bronwyn the witch series by Candace Havens Bronwyn is a spunky, smart and funny character and also a strong female protagonist, who not only looks after herself, but also protects and when necessary saves all those she cares about. The story in this third book is similar to the others Bronwyn goes around the world protecting the British PM, and along the way discovers paranormal fiction then I recommend this entire series and, for that matter, any other books by Candace Havens as enjoyable reads Like the previous book, I loved this book I like the character in this
