This book, collection of historical writings, was first introduced to me by Mr William E Young This book walks us through African American history A great book to have on the book shelf. Awesome A must have on the bookshelf of any reader who has even a casual interest in African American literature A compendium that contains samples but entire stories, articles, poems, etc., not snippets of writings that whet the appetite. A fantastic read A lot of pages, a lot of days to read this book, but well worth it It has opened my eyes wider to wonder in some many ways that are undescribeable So many of these writer did cross the danger waters and made it to the other side I would recommend this book to anyone Very informative introduces different era s indetail.
