I love this series and I really hope book 3 is out soon There s some unresolved issues that need addressing Originally read November 2017 This was a continuation of Angel and Simeon s story but really, it s about a lot of characters finding their way in this supernatural world and coming into their own As always, I wish we hadactual couple time but it didn t bring down my enjoyment The story and mystery are interesting enough to keep me invested I just love them as a couple so much I want someintimate moments between them I really enjoyed getting some different POV s this time as well.So far, I have loved everything of S.J Himes that I ve read I m looking forward to Daniel and Issac s stories It seems they both need some love badly And can I just say WTF with the ending I NEED book 3 straight away [[ E-pub ]] ↳ The Necromancer's Dilemma ⇴ Even love can die without trustAngel s brother, Isaac, has returned home, and the pair begin to make slow and awkward attempts back to each other Learning how to be a brother to a grown man instead of a parental figure has Angel adjusting his behaviors and habits, and Isaac still remains a mystery Was it merely entering adulthood that turned Isaac away from an overprotective Angel, or does Isaac carry a secret that will keep them from finally being a real family Daniel Macavoy, Angel s new apprentice, is torn between his bond with Angel and the grasping machinations of his father Dealing with a traumatized apprentice with dangerous holes in his magical education, saving Daniel may be harder than Angel first thought especially since the biggest problem is not revenge, but guiltThe one shining beacon in his life is Simeon, Elder vampire of Boston s only Bloodclan Four hundred years old and sexy as sin, Simeon is warrior and sage, patient and cunning The strength Angel draws from Simeon s devotion and the newborn mate bond between them is steadfast and true and the fount of death magic that animates the undead lord places Angel in the midst of a power struggle for control over himself, his lover, and his family Through it all, Angel is beleaguered by the unwanted attention of a troll hybrid, the adventures of a dragon in the city, and a serial killer has decided to hunt the back alleys and midnight streets of Boston Audio.5 stars Story..4.5 stars When it comes to pnr reads, I mof a werewolf kind of gal But Simeon puts the S in sexy and has me warming up to vampires Is there anythingadorable than a pet with personality I know, I knowEroch would be offended because he is not a pet I totally want an Eroch of my boasts sorcerers, vampires, trolls, fae lords, and last but not least, a squee worthy, small, but spunky dragon This continues to play on my nostalgia for when I gobbled up series like Sookie have any complaint about this at all.Basically, this is the continuation of the life and times of Angel, new mate to elder vampire Simeon Their bond is a bit tenuous, slowly evolving and gaining strength, not quite permanent and solidified Such a bond between a necromancer and a vampire has never been formed, and it s sure to have unknown repercussions and consequences As Angel and Simeon deal with their amazing new abilities that definitely increase their status, such developments also set them up as targets for all sorts of unwanted attention It doesn t help when their lives and powers are further tested as humans, and supernatural alike, start showing up brutally and ritualistically murdered, suggesting a threat with evil, dark intent Of course, they re the only ones capable and possibly powerful enough to address such a formidable foe What I enjoyed the most was the additional world building, the exploration into Angel s abilities, and don t forget, the evolving relationships he has with not only Simeon, but also with his younger brother, Isaac, and his new apprentice from a rival clan, Daniel This was full of magical action and adventure, with some really yummy claiming smex No complaints here Again, like its predecessor, Necromancer s Dance, this was narrated by Joel Leslie I admit he is not my favorite narrator, as he brings very over the top interpretations and accents to all of the characters, inducing the occasional eye roll, brow raise, and wincing at his various dramatics However, thankfully the powerful and engaging storytelling overshadows the negatives of the audio, and I eagerly look forward to the next book SJ Himes can t write fast enough Thanks to the author publisher for the audio in exchange for a honest review Second answers to me aloneAn alright second book First read review We re back with the only necromancer in all of Boston Angelus Angel Sorcerer Salvatore Raine Salvatore apparently 29, though I thought he was 30 but he doesn t turn 30 until the bonus read in the end and Elder and vampire, Simeon Celt over 400 years old They are now bonded , though not fully yet, but getting stronger This time around Angel has accepted a case about a serial killer who s not easy to catch Simeon was at times odd, even for Angel The undead vampire lord was four hundred years old, a warrior and cunning predator Yet the fact he was washing dishes from a meal he couldn t eat, and that he even cooked the meal, gave Angel a warm, almost fluid sense of sweet pain and affection Awe He felt awe Simeon was awe inspiring Angel had spent his life alone, and even expected to remain that way forever, never looking for a relationship or a partner in the romantic sense and yet Simeon filled that role so perfectly, so smoothly, that Angel had a sneaking suspicion that Simeon had been working on getting him to accept him since the moment they met, over two years ago now There s also Angel s apprentice, Daniel Macavoy 20 who is hurt emotionally and Angel s brother Isaac Salvatore 23 who is hiding something Full of action, love and supernatural creatures, The Necromancer s Dilemma was quite interesting and really enjoyable However, I kept looking for somethingHopefully we ll get whatever that is in the next book Simeon leaned down, and kissed Angel s brow Is bre liom t , Simeon whispered over Angel s to grow.Issac is back living with Angel and while he accepts Simeon and gets on well with Daniel something is not right.Daniel is Angel s apprentice and while he adores and idolises Angel his past is never far away. And talking about the past Milly finds hers right in front of her and it s huge and scary. There s murders, magic, vampires, fae even a troll hybrid and the cutest little dragon ever I love all these amazing characters and the world that s been created for them, Simeon in particular because he loves Angel so very much I m a sucker for anyone who loves another to such a degree and isn t afraid to lay themselves open and show their love but Angel is also incredible and I loved how Simeon describes him here They call me a warrior, but the termaptly describes yourself Simeon turned from the sink, and gently pulled Angel into his arms Angel leaned his chin on Simeon s chest and stared up at his lover, Simeon smiling down at him Yet in your heart, there is an unending generosity You believe in compassion, in second chances You can forgive and even better, you know when not to forgive You make me sound like a saint, Angel whispered, their lips a couple inches apart as Simeon dipped his head A warrior saint who swears with every breath he takes, and walks headlong into danger for those he loves, and never washes his own dishes, Simeon retorted with a smile, and Angel laughed We have a dishwasher, ya know, 4.5 StarsAngel and Simeon are epic AF Himes has created quite the memorable pairing in sorcerer vampire lovers Angel and Simeon Their romance is very passionate and sexy and downright swoon worthy at times, and when shit hits the fan and life threatening events start encroaching on this mated pair, my heart quickens and I start to panic, much like the characters themselves, because the idea that either could be hurt or worse is just unacceptable I enjoyed the first story in this urban fantasy 4.5 StarsAngel and Simeon are epic AF Himes has unacceptable I enjoyed the first story in this urban fantasy series a great deal, but I can honestly say this sequel was even better With the characters now established and the world building solid, this sequel dived in pedal to the metal, starting off strong and keeping a smooth, yet thrilling pace throughout There were a couple of heart stopping moments where serious character harm was a little too close for comfort, but even though these scenes took months off my life, I appreciated the exciting, action packed plot and how it unfolded, upping the ante at every turn It must also be said that the secondary characters are really coming into their own, especially in terms of Angel s brother Isaac, who I struggled with in book one, and Baptiste, the ancient vampire master who now has his eye on tasty young Isaac Their future story will be one I won t miss, that s for sure As far as urban fantasies go, this series is definitely one of the best I ve read, not just in M M romance The characters are all strong, intelligent, and emotionally complex, the world building is great, and the presence of a variety of supernatural creatures and beings really does add to making this one hell of a fun read. This was a great sequel and Angel and Simeon just go from strength to strength as their bigger story unfolds I for one can t wait to see what lies in store for these two in the next instalments There are some things that simply get better with time My favorite pair of jeans, a nice bottle of wine, and the love between a sassy necromancer and his vamp Ha It s true One of my absolute favorites in a spectacular series is when bonds settle into place and love grows stronger and brighter with each story Not much time has passed since the first book but one thing is for certain, Angel and Simeon s love We follow them as they embark with tentative but solid steps into their new relation There are some things that simply get better with time My favorite pair of jeans, new relationship and of course, fight battles along the way The secondary cast is pulled into the limelight and we discoverabout Angel s cobblestone family His business partner, Milly, who islike a mother to him, is attacked and Angel sees red No one messes with his family Human or otherwise, they will pay Sadly, this isn t the last time one of his loved ones need rescuing To top things off, his powers are going wonky and he s struggling to control the surge building inside him My new favorite necromancer dances his way from one predicament to another and I wasthan eager to tag along Shall I tell you a bitWhat s to like In regards to the world building, the heavy lifting has been done But that doesn t mean we don t have new surprises along the way Between a horrid troll, Daniel s dreadful family and impressive fae I was entranced the entire time There s a serial killer on the loose and they have begun to target supernats Murdered weres and missing vamps leave a trail that takes us on a heart racing mission I nearly fell from my seat from massive swooning when Angel presents Simeon with a gift Oh sweet mercy, they are too much And I love it.What s to love Angel and Simeon If I have been charmed or bewitched please don t let it stop Their reality fills me with bubbles of glee and I m addicted to their drama Yes, Angel tends to have drama knock at his door but between his awestriking powers and the endless bank from his beloved, they are a force to be reckoned with I love how needy Simeon is with Angel s affection I love how easily Angel gives in when Simeon pampers and coddles him Their love is boundless And as much as I want to gush and babble , I need to find out what happens after Issac relieved that heavy burden he s been carrying Cliffy alert There is a sweet treat that softens the blow though, you won t want to miss the extra.Beware of A gripping and thrilling adventure led by a mouthy magician and his mate A love so true it defies all the rules And a cliffhanger that will simultaneously leave you screaming and squealing. This book is for If you need an escape right now, may I suggest this spellbinding series It s sure to take you away and return
