After reading the whole series, I really think this should be 3.5 also It is labeled 3.5 in some lists and 2.5 in others It was published the same day in the Hexed anthology as book 3 It has characters that you understand better after 3 though It definitely should be read before 4 and 5 as there is references to what happens and the bad guy shows up again Definitely a good read. Review posted on Got Fiction This was a heck of a novella There are very few authors who can pack so much into so few pages, and make you feel like you read a full novel, but Ms Ashley does it and does it well. This one begins with the faucets running with blood I mean how else would one start a story lolJanet s hotel is having problems with the plumbing, and her plumber Freemont is there to help The only problem is that what s going on is supernatural, hence the blood.Realizing very quickly Review posted on Got Fiction This was a heck of a novella There are very few authors who can pack so much into so few pages, and make you feel like you read a full novel, but Ms Ashley does it and does it well. This one begins with the faucets running with blood I mean how else would one start a story lolJanet s hotel is having problems with the plumbing, and her plumber Freemont is there to help The only problem is that what s going on is supernatural, hence the blood.Realizing very quickly that something big is happening, Janet and her friends try their hardest to figure out what it is, and how to fix it But Janet is still struggling to control her Beneath magic, and twine it together with her Stormwalker magic With several of her friends and the god Coyote now trapped in her hotel, that struggle becomes nearly impossible The figure out that they re hexed, and they think they know who did it, but so far, they re still stuck Untangling the hex isn t as easy as it should be for them, and each minute brings new challenges With a storm rolling in, and all of her friends in danger, Janet isn t sure she s going to be able to get them out of this one. This was an excellent addition to the series, and although you can read it as a stand alone, I wouldn t suggest it You won t be confused, but you ll be missing out on the richness of the world that Ms Ashley has created You don t have to be a fan of Urban Fantasy to enjoy this series It reminds me of how the Kate Daniels series is where it s UF, but it s also Romance With so much packed into a novella, you d expect the story to suffer, but instead it thrives Ms Ashley s talent for detail and storytelling shine through in this addition to the Stormwalker series This story was originally published in Hexed Originally Published in the Anthology Hexed in Double Hexed fall chronologically between Firewalker and Shadow Walker As per author Newsletter 18th March 2014 Expected publication May 20th 2014 by InterMixThe story takes place within the hotel that Janet Begay owns and operates It is about a Hex that forces all the main characters Janet, Mick, Freemont, Maya, Pamela, Cassandra, Coyote, and Nash, to come up with a way to escape without killi Originally Published in the Anthology Hexed in Double Hexed fall chronologically between Firewalker and Shadow Walker As per author Newsletter 18th March 2014 Expected publication May 20th 2014 by InterMixThe story takes place within the hotel that Janet Begay owns and operates It is about a Hex that forces all the main characters Janet, Mick, Freemont, Maya, Pamela, Cassandra, Coyote, and Nash, to come up with a way to escape without killing each other It starts with water turning into blood, and ends with a twist that you won t see coming I absolutely love Coyote s character He is charming, snarky, and above all, wicked cool And, yes, he is sex starved when it comes to Janet Yes, I did use the term wicked cool This story is actually pretty good It has suspense, mystery and drama in that you don t know if everyone will survive or not I can t nor won t give it 5 stars because I don t much care for Nash and Mick and they both take away from the story with their stupidity Nash, once again, is an idiot who can t see love that s right in front of his face Mick, well Mick just wants to lure Janet to a Pacific Island and hold her hostage away from her evil goddess mother so that she doesn t destroy the world with her Beneath and Stormwalker powers Definitely one of those series that you want to read in order to make sure you don t miss something like I have No worries, I have the other two books in this series on hold currently at my library
