F.B.I Agent named J.J McCall Her super power or super weakness is the ability to detect lies by an itching sensation in her skin The bigger the lie, the harder the itch Her power is helpful for her line of work counter intelligence However, her power may be her biggest weakness She s lost love because of the itch Nevertheless, I found J.J s trait fascinating and read with excitement as she conversed with other characters If J.J itched uh oh In The Seven Year Itch McCall hunts a treacherous traitor who s selling secrets and compromising sources You travel at high speeds through the streets of Washington D.C., and you sit at the edge of your seat as Skye hits you with twists and turns Who s the traitor I thought I had everything figured out and then Skye threw in a large monkey wrench that sent me reeling After that, I couldn t stop reading I had to know if my suspicions were true It blew my mind when I found out who the traitor was Few books actually raise heart rates The Seven Year Itch is one of those books.I couldn t keep this great treasure to myself If you like thrill rides with truly interesting characters, then The Itch is for you I cannot wait to read the who is cursed with a generational curse at the age of seven, she became able to tell when someone was lying to her she starts to itch. This novel is full of interesting characters There s her ex Black Panther father who thinks she needs to settle down with a good black man and her brother, who is a police officer and gives her a helping hand when he can Then there s her partner, Tony, who she is definitely attracted to and the feeling is mutual The tension between them is not resolved, which is a good thing since this is the start of a series There s an off screen ex boyfriend who still is involved where J.J s heart is concerned And, there are many manycharacters that Skye introduces us to and gives us background on And, this is the main downfall of the book there are too many characters that we find out too much about.Character development is a good thing, but not when it starts to slow the pace of the story down This is especially true in a thriller where everything should build steadily until the finale The Seven Year Itch drags in the middle some, but Skye pulls it back together and gets the story back on track She leaves us with an ending that promisesconflict and tension in the second book of the series. It s also interesting to get an insider s view of what goes on behind the closed doors of the alphabet soup that is Washington and its agencies I especially enjoyed that part of the book and am looking forward to the next book in the series Pulling StringsJ.J McCall is a second generation FBI agent Her mother, Naomi, served under the Hoover immediate supervisor, Jack Sabinski J.J and her co case agent, Tony Donato, for three years have been working to find a dangerous turncoat burrowed deep within the Intelligence Community With a dead source and a missing source, it is imperative that they figure out who the Ice Phantom is to prevent anylives from being lost Weary, sick and tired, J.J decides once this case is finished she is through with the Bureau.THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH THE FBI ESPIONAGE SERIES starts out painstakingly slow I was ready to throw in the towel, but the excitement of having an African American female lead was just too thrilling to pass up I forced myself to stay the course and trust me when I say that it was well worth it Thick with layers, THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH is filled with strife, deceit, lust, pain, mystery, and humor I felt as if I was a part of the unit, tracking the steps in order to help with the case Minus the beginning, this is a definite win Reviewed by Crystal 4 starsFull review to come she get them both killed I ve always loved a good spy novel and The Seven Year Itch is no exception As it begins, I felt that it was going to be a slow read, you know not my kind of book, but little did I know that I was in for a real treat I was immediately swept up into the story and found myself unable to put this book down JJ McCall is a wonderful heroine, a well thought out and extremely relatable character Not only is there a female lead in this spy novel but the female lead also happens to be African American, which is a refreshing step away from the norm. The characters were very well written and I found it easy to lose myself in each of their stories This was due in part to the author SD Sky not only delves into the back stories of the lead characters allowing us a glimpse into their pasts, but the supporting characters as well A well thought out back story is a very necessary component in a well written novel and Sky knocked it out of the park in that aspect I love to know the past experiences that drive the characters It enables the reader to better connect with them and thus becomeinvested in their stories. The main character, JJ McCall seemingly had a lot to deal with The stresses of being black and a woman in a male dominated field, protecting her recruits which have been disappearing at an alarming rate and trying to calm the growing feelings she finds herself having for her sexy Italian partner Tony is enough to drive anyone mad but JJ finds a way to cope with the pressures I loved JJ because she was a strong woman She had her faults and vices but she refused to let anyone walk all over her.Hunky Tony is the friend, and partner every woman should have His concern for his partner and his willingness to stand by her side no matter what is what makes him so loveable as a character The chemistry between he and Miss McCall was electric and the sexual tension was so thick, one could cut it with a knife The romantic aspect was just enough to wet your whistle without taking away from the story and I cannot wait to see what happens between the two.Sky s 12 years with the bureau lends an air of realness and authenticity that enabled her to weave a suspenseful tale that will leave you salivating Seven Year Itch blends the perfect mixture of mystery and intrigue along with just enough romance to keep you wantingSky keeps readers anxiously guessing while navigating the various twists and turns thrown their way Just when you think you ve figured out whodunnit , BAM Sky throws another twist into the scenario..Not to mention the twist at the end I, for one, cannot wait until the next in the Series, Son of an Itch is released Overall,The Seven year Itch was a very believable and enjoyable read If you re looking for a spy novel that dares to stray from the norm, full of suspense, intrigue and a bit of romance you ll love The Seven Year Itch The Seven Year Itch is a good spy story FBI Agent JJ, who is cursed or blessed, depending one step ahead of them, setting up a trap that will stall their investigation In an effort to figure out who is betraying them, the bureau demands that all agents go through a polygraph test When the results start coming in, fingers are pointed in several directions.Tony and JJ try to balance their mutual attraction to each other, battle some inner demons and still do their job trying to find a mole before anyagents die.It s an interesting story with several twists and turns JJ is a strong, black female character that has some different and interesting quirks The author has created some interesting characters that we will get to meet again in a sequel JJ McCall is one of a kind, brilliant and expedient I imagine her partner Tony Dosanto is one gorgeous man as well The two of them together can solve any Russian spy espionage SD Skye is an excellent author I didn t understand much of her terms but I understood the theory of the story Can t wait to see what happens with her and her former lover Sixx Betrayal, espionage, frustration, gruesome murder Riveting and spellbound. I applaud Skye for introducing a convincing Black female protagonist into a spy novel, but I just didn t want to keep going back to this story For me there was too much of What you thought you knew was not really true And the main plot line moved too slowly for me I invoked my son Mike s 100 page rule That is, if the story has not captured you by page 100, close it up and put it away.
